Union Budget 2026: Allocations to major central schemes

Out of the major central schemes, the scheme that were allocated the most, as a share of the total expenditure, was the central sector scheme Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana at ₹2.27 lakh crore which is around 4.25% of the total expenditure of the budget. Other schemes that followed were allocations to the National Highway Authority of India (3.5%), Road Works (2.28%), Urea Subsidy (2.18%), and the VB-G RAM G (1.8%). The allocations to major schemes and their share to the total expenditure of the budget are shown in the graphic below.
