Trump to hold Cabinet meeting at White House
President Donald Trump is set to hold a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Thursday.
The meeting comes as Trump and other administration officials seek to de-escalate tensions over immigration enforcement activities in Minnesota, where federal agents in the past month have killed two U.S. citizens during confrontations over immigration actions.
There is a risk that there will be a partial shutdown of the U.S. government later this week over opposition by Democratic senators to passing a measure to fund the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees immigration enforcement.
On Wednesday, Trump in a social media post said, “A massive Armada is heading to Iran. It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose.”
The warning came as Trump has pressured Iran to make a deal on its nuclear program and to cease a brutal crackdown on protestors domestically.
