“India has sufficient fuel stocks, and supply and distribution networks are functioning normally,” the state-owned OMC stated, adding, “Citizens are requested not to panic or crowd fuel stations and to rely only on official sources for accurate information.”
Concerns about fuel supplies in the country primarily originated from escalating tensions between Iran and Israel along with ally United States. Following the death of their supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Tehran blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a key energy route.

Essential to note however, earlier this week, sources in the government who did not wish to be identified, informed that India had sufficient stocks of crude oil and energy products, that is, petrol and diesel, for 25 days each, cumulatively accounting for 50 days of sufficiency with the stock being constantly refurbished.
