PPC 2026 marks pan-India milestone with student interactions across five regions

Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 witnessed a substantial increase in the Prime Minister’s flagship student engagement programme, with activities being conducted simultaneously in various parts of the country for the first time. The ninth edition of the programme broke away from the conventional Delhi-based model, bringing students from varied backgrounds onto one national stage.The scale of the event was reflected in the number of participants, with 4.5 crore students registering on the MyGovIndia portal and another 2.26 crore registering through other related activities. The total number of participants touched 6.76 crore, making the 2026 edition the largest one since its launch in 2018.Nationwide engagement across five locationsAnnouncing the development on X, MyGovIndia described the programme as “A Nationwide Dialogue With Students!” The official post stated, “The 2026 edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha marked a historic milestone as student interactions expanded across the country.”The post further highlighted the geographic spread of the interactions. “Along with Delhi, PM @narendramodi engaged directly with students in Coimbatore, Raipur, Dev Mogra and Guwahati connecting the east, west, north, south and the heart of India on one common platform,” MyGovIndia said.Videos shared on the MyGovIndia portal showed Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacting with students from each of these locations, underscoring the programme’s pan-India character. This was the first time Pariksha Pe Charcha was conducted simultaneously outside the national capital.Record participation through registrations and activitiesThe figures for participation made available by MyGovIndia showed that there was immense national-level participation over an extended period of time. The registrations done on the website occurred between December 1, 2025, and January 11, 2026, and included 4.5 crore participants. A further 2.26 crore individuals took part in school-level and related activities conducted from January 12 to January 23.Summarising the scale of involvement, the X post noted, “With 4.5 crore registered participants and 2.26 crore more taking part through related activities, overall participation crossed 6.76 crore+, reflecting unprecedented national engagement.”Evolution of Pariksha Pe CharchaPariksha Pe Charcha was first held on February 16, 2018 as an annual interaction ahead of board examinations, offering students, parents and teachers a platform to discuss examinations, stress management and life skills. Over the years, the initiative has gradually expanded in terms of reach and format.The 2026 edition is tentatively scheduled for the last week of January and builds on the programme’s evolution into a nationwide movement, with participation spanning states, school systems and regions. The latest edition represents the most geographically inclusive format since the programme’s inception.
