Mr. Trump claimed that Iran has continued to develop its nuclear programme and plans to develop missiles to reach the U.S.

Amid the attacks, residents in the conflict-ridden areas, especially Israel and Iran, have undertaken necessary measures to move into safer places. Indian Embassy in Iran and Israel, have issued an advisory to exercise utmost caution, avoid unnecessary movements and remain indoors as far as possible.

Which U.S. bases are under attack

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched “Operation Truthful Promise 4”, apparently targeting key U.S. military installations across the Middle East. Majorly, the attack impacts seven U.S. military bases in six middle-eastern countries.

Here is the list of U.S. military bases that came under attack:

1. Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar: This is the largest U.S. military base in the region, serving as an crucial military headquarter for for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). Qatari authorities told they intercepted incoming missiles using anti-missile systems.
2. Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates: This U.S. air base in Abu Dhabi accounts an attendance of approximately 5,000 U.S. personnel and advanced military equipment. Local sources have mentioned hearing loud, and smoke coming out from the base area.
3. Ali Al-Salem Air Base, Kuwait: This military base, also known as “The Rock,” consolidates U.S. Air Force operations and is closer to the Iraqi border. Explosions and air-raid sirens were reported in the vicinity, mentioned witnesses.
4. NSA Bahrain: Also a naval facility, NSA Bahrain has been a critical command centre for regional operations. Several videos made rounds in the internet showing smoke pouring from the base in Manama after a missile strike.
5. Muwaffaq Al-Salti Air Base, Jordan: Several Iranian missiles struck this military base earlier today. Jordan’s air defences reportedly brought downed two missiles in a dogfight.
6. Ain Al-Asad Air Base, Iraq: Local reports suggested smoke and explosions were witnessed near this base in western Iraq.
7. Erbil Air Base, Iraq: Considered to be under high alert, it has received several missile strikes by Iran’s army.

Indian embassy issues advisory

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Indian Embassy at Abu Dhabi urged all Indian nationals in the country “to avoid unnecessary travel, take due care, remain vigilant, follow safety guidelines and advisories as and when issued by the UAE authorities and the Embassy.” The Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai are continuing to function normally, it said in a post on X and also gave a Toll free number (800-46342) and a WhatsApp number (+971543090571) along with two email IDs (pbsk.dubai@mea.gov.in and ca.abudhabi@mea.gov.in) for Indian nationals there to contact in case of emergency.

Similarly, The Embassy of India at Riyadh asked all Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia “to remain vigilant” and strictly adhere to the safety guidelines prevalent in the country. Further, the Indian Embassy in Jordan said in its advisory, “In view of the prevailing regional situation, all Indian nationals and tourists in Jordan are advised to exercise utmost caution, stay safe and follow advisories issued by local authorities diligently.” The advisory, posted on the Embassy’s social media channels, further advised all Indian tourists in Jordan to leave the country “immediately before operations of commercial flights get disrupted.” The Indian Embassy in Jordan also gave a contact number (00962-770 422 276) in case of any exigency.

U.S. bases in Southeast Asia

According to the latest developments, the U.S. army does not operate permanent military bases in Southeast Asia. However, the U.S. army continues its missions through agreements, signed by respective nations. The United States maintains 14 temporary facilities for logistical purpose in Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and British India Territory.
