The 20-year-old Lohakare, with an 81.08m throw in his very first attempt of the season, was also the only athlete to cross the 80m mark in the competition. Kishore Jena, returning to action after almost a year, could only manage 74.75m and finished third.
Nishchay Phogat, meanwhile, added the under-18 discus gold to his shot put win from Saturday with another personal best even as Ujjawal Choudhary continued to impress, going past the 60m mark to better his own under-20 discus National record and clinch gold.

U-18: Discus: 1. Nishchay (Har, 63.90m), 2. Yash Jaglan (Har, 56.50m), 3. Virender Poonia (Raj, 55.46m); Javelin: 1. Vishal Patel (NCOE, 70.62m), 2. Rajat Kumar (UP, 70.52m), 3. Ayush Raj (Bih, 69.53m).
