The National Testing Agency has released the roll number list of candidates declared successful in the Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) for December 2025. The examination was conducted on December 18, 2025, for candidates seeking eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/Assistant Professor in science subjects.As per the official notification, candidates whose roll numbers appear in the list have been declared successful in the category under which they have qualified. The qualification remains subject to the fulfilment of all notified eligibility conditions prescribed for the examination by the University Grants Commission.Category 1 candidates eligible for JRF and Assistant ProfessorThe roll numbers published under Category 1 include candidates qualified for the award of JRF under the scheme of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. These candidates are also eligible to apply for Assistant Professor positions, provided they meet the minimum academic and institutional requirements laid down by UGC.The computer-based examination assessed candidates through three sections — Part A, Part B and Part C. Final merit has been prepared based on cumulative performance across all sections, which determines placement in different eligibility categories.Initial responses from candidates indicated that the roll number lists were made available in PDF format on the official website, enabling quick verification of qualification status.Minimum qualifying marks and cut-off criteriaAlong with the roll number list, subject-wise and category-wise cut-off marks have been released. The minimum qualifying benchmark has been fixed at 33 per cent for candidates in the General, EWS and OBC categories, and 25 per cent for SC, ST and PwD candidates.These qualifying marks apply across Category 1 for JRF and Assistant Professor eligibility, Category 2 for Assistant Professor only, and for candidates considered eligible for PhD admissions. Ranking has been prepared first based on performance, followed by allocation as per the fellowship ratio available for each subject.How candidates can check the listCandidates can check the result by visiting the official NTA website and opening the CSIR NET December 2025 result link under the latest notifications section. The roll number list and cut-off documents can be downloaded and saved for future reference.The qualification status will be subject to document verification at later stages for fellowship award, recruitment or admission processes.
