COMEDK UGET 2026 exam date announced: Check registration details, eligibility here
The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has announced the exam date for COMEDK UGET 2026, an important entrance test for engineering aspirants across the country. As per the official update, the COMEDK Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) 2026 will be conducted on May 9, 2026. The exam will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode at centres across India.COMEDK UGET is conducted every year for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes offered by private unaided engineering colleges in Karnataka. Candidates planning to appear for the exam are advised to regularly check the official website, comedk.org, for the detailed notification, application dates, eligibility criteria and exam guidelines, which will be released soon.
COMEDK UGET 2026: Who can appear for the exam
COMEDK UGET is conducted for students seeking admission to BTech and other undergraduate engineering courses. The exam score is accepted by more than 150 private unaided engineering colleges in Karnataka that are members of COMEDK. Candidates who have passed or are appearing in Class 12 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects are eligible to apply. Chemistry or related subjects such as Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics are accepted as the third subject. The detailed eligibility conditions, including minimum marks, will be mentioned in the official information brochure.
Official notification and application details awaited
COMEDK has informed that the detailed notification for UGET 2026 will be released shortly on the official website. This notification will include important dates such as the start and end of the application process, exam pattern, syllabus, fee details and city-wise test centres. The application process will be conducted online only. Candidates are advised to rely only on official updates from comedk.org and avoid unverified information from unofficial sources.
Centralised counselling for engineering admissions
Admissions to participating engineering colleges will be done through a centralised counselling process conducted by COMEDK. After the declaration of results, eligible candidates will be required to register for counselling, complete document verification and fill in their college and course preferences. Seat allotment will be done in multiple rounds based on rank, preference and availability of seats. The counselling schedule will be announced after the exam results are declared.
