CBSE CTET exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the admit cards for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026. The CTET exams are scheduled to be held on February 7 and 8. With registrations crossing 2.7 million, the board is preparing for massive turnout across 132 cities, where the test will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode.Candidates can now download their admit cards from ctet.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. Entry to examination centres will be permitted only on the basis of the hall ticket, making it essential for aspirants to carry a printed copy on both days.Originally planned as a single-day exam on February 8, CTET was expanded to a two-day exercise after application numbers exceeded expectations. The registration window opened on November 27 and closed on December 18. By the deadline, 25,30,581 candidates had successfully registered, with a striking 7,68,199 applications submitted in just the final 48 hours.

Two papers, strict reporting timelines

The examination will be held in two shifts. Paper 1 for candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 5 will be held from 9:30 am to 12 noon. Candidates should report at 7:30 am as the entry gates will be closed at 9:30 am sharp.Paper 2, for candidates intending to teach Classes 6 to 8, will be held from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. The reporting time is 12:30 pm, and the gates will be closed at 2:30 pm.A large portion of the paper is dedicated to Child Development and Pedagogy, along with subject knowledge and reading comprehension, which are used to measure both teaching skills and conceptual understanding.In order to pass, candidates belonging to the General category must obtain a score of 60 percent, or 90 out of 150 marks. SC, ST, OBC, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories require a minimum qualifying mark of 55 percent, or 82 marks.Each paper will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions, carrying one mark each. The duration of the exam is two-and-a-half hours, and there is no negative marking. A significant portion of the paper focuses on Child Development and Pedagogy, along with subject knowledge and reading comprehension, aimed at assessing both teaching aptitude and conceptual understanding.To qualify, General category candidates must score at least 60 per cent, or 90 out of 150 marks. For SC, ST, OBC, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories, the minimum qualifying mark is 55 per cent, equivalent to 82 marks.

CBSE issues detailed guidelines for candidates with disabilities

Ahead of the examination, CBSE has also issued a detailed notice outlining provisions for candidates with disabilities. Only those covered under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016 will be eligible for facilities such as a scribe and compensatory time.Candidates seeking these accommodations must carry their disability certificate in the prescribed format along with a valid UDID card. Those certified by a government medical authority as having difficulty in writing may also avail of a scribe. For candidates with blindness, cerebral palsy, or locomotor disability affecting both arms, the facility will be provided if they choose to opt for it.The scribe must be at least matriculate and should possess qualifications one level lower than the minimum requirement for the post. Eligible candidates will receive compensatory time of not less than 50 minutes per hour of examination. CBSE will also provide large-font question papers for visually impaired candidates, who may choose between standard and enlarged versions.

  • On the homepage, click on the link titled “CTET 2026 Admit Card.”
  • A new login window will open on the screen.
  • Enter your Application Number and Password.
  • Click on Submit.
  • Your CTET admit card will appear on the screen.
  • Download it and take a clear printout for exam-day use.
  • Carefully verify all details, including your name, roll number, exam centre, date, and shift.
