AIFF finalises ISL charter – The Hindu
Planned for a 20-season cycle, the ISL will be run by a governing council and a management committee. The council — chaired by AIFF president/vice-president — will comprise 22 members, 14 of whom will be from each of the clubs, and three will be from the commercial partner.
The AIFF president/secretary general, vice-president and treasurer will complete the roster, along with two independent members, one nominated by the AIFF and another by the clubs.
The committee will run ISL’s local operations under the council’s supervision.
The AIFF secretary general/deputy secretary general will chair this committee and will also have the head of competitions and the head of strategy from the federation.
The committee’s eight remaining spots will be for ISL clubs (five) and the commercial partner (three). Among club representatives, three will be mutually selected by majority (by all clubs), and two will be from the top two teams in the season prior (can change annually).
The tenure of each member of the council (excluding club representatives unless there is a change in control of the club) and committee will be for three ISL seasons, commencing from the season before which they are appointed.
No club representative should be on the committee for two terms unless they have served a cooling period of three seasons between such terms.
