NCERT recruitment 2026 underway: Check eligibility, application fee, and other details
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has begun the online application process for NCERT Recruitment 2026. The recruitment drive aims to fill 117 academic vacancies across its campuses. NCERT has explicitly stated that such applications submitted in any other mode will be rejected, and so the application should be properly followed as per the stipulated procedure.

The official notification regarding the vacancies in the posts of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor is announced to be 114 vacancies as per the Advertisement No.177/2026. Moreover, three vacancies are allocated to library posts, which include Deputy Librarian and Assistant Librarian.This combination of teaching and librarian indicates the two-fold emphasis of NCERT on classroom teaching and management of academic resources. Candidates of the UR, OBC, and EWS category have been charged an application fee of Rs 1,000. But the candidates of SC, ST, PwD and women are waived of the fee. Where necessary, payment should be made online.Selection would be conducted through shortlisting of the candidates and then the interviews. Notably, interview performance will be the only basis of drawing up the final merit list as per the UGC and NCERT. This cycle of recruitment will not include a written examination.

It involves online registration,an application form, attaching the necessary documents, a photograph, a signature, and payment of the application fee (where necessary).Once the application has been submitted, the applicant will be advised to keep a copy of the duly filled application form for future reference.
