CSBC Bihar Police Special Branch Constable Recruitment 2026: 83 posts notified, no physical test, apply from February 6
The Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC), Bihar, has released a notification for recruitment to the post of Constable (General Duty Close Cadre) in the Bihar Police Special Branch. A total of 83 vacancies have been notified under this recruitment drive. Candidates who have passed the 12th standard are eligible to apply online through the official CSBC website.The online application process will begin from February 6, 2026, and candidates can submit their forms until March 5, 2026. The recruitment process will be conducted without any physical efficiency test such as running or jumping. The board has stated that the number of vacancies may increase or decrease based on administrative requirements before the written examination.Eligibility criteria and age limitApplicants must have passed the intermediate (12th) examination from a recognised board. Age will be calculated based on the date of birth mentioned in the matriculation or equivalent certificate. For unreserved male and female candidates, the age limit is 18 to 25 years. Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class male candidates are eligible up to 27 years, while female candidates of these categories can apply up to 28 years. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates have an upper age limit of 30 years. Bihar government employees applying for higher-level posts are eligible for an additional age relaxation of five years as per state rules.Selection process and examination patternThe selection process will consist of a written examination followed by a physical measurement test. There will be no interview. The written examination will comprise two papers, each of 90 minutes duration, carrying 100 questions and 100 marks per paper. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response. Candidates scoring below 30 per cent in the written examination will not qualify for the physical measurement stage. The final merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained in the main written examination.Physical standards and application feePhysical measurement standards include minimum height requirements of 165 centimetres for unreserved and Backward Class men, 160 centimetres for Extremely Backward Class, Scheduled Caste, and Scheduled Tribe men, and 155 centimetres for women of all categories. Chest measurements apply only to male candidates, while the minimum weight for female candidates is fixed at 48 kilograms. Candidates from other states may apply but will not be eligible for reservation benefits.
