Ola Electric, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle firm founded by Bhavish Aggarwal, on Friday (January 30, 2026) said, as part of its ongoing structural transformation, approximately 5% of its workforce would be impacted.

The firm said it was doubling down on speed and discipline through increased automation across its front-end operations and was building a leaner organisation.

According to internal sources, Ola Electric currently employs around 3,500 people.

“The company is doubling down on speed and discipline through increased automation across its frontend operations. As part of this ongoing structural transformation, approximately 5% of the workforce will be impacted,’’ it said in a statement this evening.

The EV firm further said it continued to focus on its business turnaround, building on the early gains delivered through Hyperservice and its service-led execution reset, with same-day resolution now being delivered to over 80% of service requests nationwide.

Ola Electric remained focused on delivering a stronger customer experience and building a leaner organisation positioned for long-term, profitable growth, it further said.

It may be recalled that in order to cut mounting losses, Ola Electric had let go off over 1,000 people, including contract workers, in March 2025. Prior to that, in November 2024, it reduced some 500 jobs, impacting diverse departments.
