IIT Guwahati changes GATE 2026 exam centre for select candidates: Check revised admit card details
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, the organising institute for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, has announced a change in the exam centre for candidates allotted centre number 2082.Candidates who were assigned this centre are advised to download the revised GATE 2026 admit card from the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal.

According to the official announcement by IIT Guwahati, the name and address of centre number 2082 have been changed.“Candidates are advised to download the revised admit card for centre number 2082 from the GOAPS portal,” the announcement also reads.

Candidates can download the updated admit card from the official GOAPS portal at gate2026.iitg.ac.inTo log in, candidates must use their enrollment ID and password.

Candidates can follow the steps below to download the revised GATE 2026 admit card:
- Visit the GOAPS portal at gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- Click on the “GATE 2026 admit card” link on the homepage
- Enter your enrollment ID and password
- The revised admit card will appear on the screen
- Download and take a printout for future use
GATE 2026 exam dates and shift timings
The GATE 2026 examination will be conducted on the following dates: February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026.The exam will be held across more than 200 cities in India under the coordination of eight zonal institutes.Exam shift timings
- Forenoon shift: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
- Afternoon shift: 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
The exam will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode.
GATE 2026 exam pattern and marking scheme
Total exam duration is 3 hours. Medium of question paper is English. Paper is a total of 100 marks.Mark distribution
- General Aptitude (GA): 15 marks (common to all papers)
- Subject-specific paper: 85 marks
The question paper will consist of 30 questions.GATE 2026 is conducted for admission to Master of Technology (MTech) programmes offered by IITs and other engineering institutions across the country.
