Economic Survey 2026: date, time, where to watch live and download PDF

The Economic Survey is an official report card on the government’s financial performance and the state of the economy during the year ending March 31. It also provides an outlook on future policy changes ahead of the Union Budget.

The Union Budget is scheduled to be presented on February 1 by Finance Minster Nirmala Sitharaman.

Economic Survey 2026: Presentation and schedule

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the Economic Survey in both Houses of Parliament on January 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. during the Budget Session. This will be followed by a press briefing by CEA V.A. Anantha Nageswaran where he will explain the key economic trends.

The Budget session which started on January 28, 2026 will end on April 2, 2026.

Economic Growth Projections

India’s economic growth has often exceeded the projections made in the Economic Survey. For 2025-26, the country expects to record a 7.4 percent growth rate, exceeding the pre-Budget projection of 6.3-6.8 per cent, according to PTI.
