Singh adds that students should focus especially on revaluation of assets and liabilities, calculation of goodwill, ratio analysis, and cash flow statements, as these carry more marks and test understanding. She explains, “Accountancy questions are designed to see if students understand the logic behind entries and calculations, not just if they can remember formats.” Knowing these topics well can help students score better in both long and short questions.

Upasana Singh points out that students often lose marks because of simple mistakes. She says that wrong journal entries, missing narrations, skipping working notes, and incorrect balance sheet formats are common errors. Singh advises, “Never skip steps in calculation questions and always follow CBSE formats carefully.” Additionally, she points out that it is better not to have messy handwriting, not to make corrections by writing over the letters, and to display all the required workings clearly.
