In a heartwarming video shared by the BCCI on their social media, former India captain Rohit Sharma met Shubman Gill, who replaced him as ODI captain, with a warm hug.At the start of the video, Shubman put his hand over Rohit’s shoulder, and the former captain can be heard saying, “Arey hero, kya haal hai bhai? (How are you doing?)”
The duo hugged each other with brimming smiles on their faces.Gill was then greeted by Virat Kohli, who was sitting with newly appointed vice-captain Shreyas Iyer.

Gambhir, after the 2-0 Test series sweep over the West Indies on Tuesday, had said that he hoped the two would have a good outing in the upcoming assignment while remaining evasive about their 2027 World Cup prospects.“The 50-over World Cup is still two and a half years away. It is very important to stay in the present. Obviously, they are quality players. They are coming back. Their experience is going to be valuable in Australia,” Gambhir said in the post-series press conference.“Hopefully, those two guys can have a successful tour, and more importantly, as a team, we can have a successful series,” Gambhir added when asked about the future of the two former skippers.
